Message First, in regards to the fuel rails, all I'll say (since I'm not Coz and that was way before my time with the company) is he knows he messed up bad when he did that, and if you ask him about it, he owns up to it. He knows he lost the trust of a lot of people doing that, which he won't get back, and that's just something he's going to have to live with.

As for the idea of buying remaining stock of OEM parts and jacking up the price, that's some tin-foil hat nonsense if I ever heard some.

Prices of Nissan parts are set, by Nissan, on a corporate level, and the fluctuate regularly. So much, in fact, that we have to check our system's cost against Nissan's invoices every time we receive product from them. Different distributors get a percentage off MSRP, which is somewhat unconventional compared to 99% of distributors out there. However, our margin is so narrow on OEM parts that we lose money on a lot of these free shipping promotions, especially with smaller parts. We sell OEM parts for about 20% off MSRP, and our website automatically detects OEM part numbers when you search and lists them at 20% off, even if it's not something we normally stock. Our cost is just a little below that (for most parts, cost is sometimes higher for some parts).

Let's take a look at the Window cowl you mentioned, which is p/n 66810-30P10. First, to say we bought them all is easy to disprove--they're still in stock and available from Nissan! Nissan's MSRP on them is currently $162.35, and we sell them for $129.88. Not that this is something I would normally make public, but we pay about $108 wholesale for them. Considering most of the retail world has at least a 50% profit margin (that is, cost is usually roughly half of the sale price), you can see we're hardly "jacking up the price several hundred percent". I'm not sure where that idea came from, but the only entity responsible for raising the price is Nissan.

Anyway, I don't expect to change anyone's mind about our company from this post, but I'm also not a fan of misinformation, so hopefully this can help to form more accurate opinions about us, if anything. I'm a firm believer that transparency is the best policy.
